An Avon Couple remained in the Highlands County Jail on Friday after a sheriff's office raid at their 407 Alton Road home reportedly yielded a 4.5 gram stash of methamphetamine.

Robert "Bobby" Lee Lewis, 42, and Iris Lucinda Lewis, 35, were each charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Robert Lewis was held on $1,500 bond and Iris Lewis was held on $3,000 bond, according to sheriff's central records.

It was about 10:01 p.m. Wednesday, when deputies with the sheriff's special investigations unit brought their search warrant to the Lewis home.

During the search deputies found a clear zip-lock style bag with the methamphetamine inside the dresser drawer in the couple's bedroom, the report stated. Also located by investigators were syringes, a glass smoking pipe, and spoons with methamphetamine residue.

Iris Lewis denied knowledge of the methamphetamine being in her home, although she reportedly admitted she had used some a few days earlier. She reportedly told deputies that she sometimes injects it and sometimes smoked it.

Robert Lewis reportedly admitted to deputies the methamphetamine was his but said he only smokes it.
