Christian music will rule the night Saturday at Firemen's Field.
The nationally known band, "Echoing Angels," will take the stage, along with local musicians, "Caleb's Cadence."
Organizers expect a standing room only crowd, with space for up to 5,000 music fans, at the free concert under the stars.
The show was more than a year in the making.
Lead organizer Dee Andrews helped organize a home-grown, word-of-mouth, six-month-long campaign that raised $12,000 for sound, lighting, the lead band and venue.
"It's a God-led thing," said Andrews. "We wanted to bring positive events to town."
Organizer Sandy Billings said Highlands County residents are "a great group of people."
The event is non-denominational and most area churches were involved in the fundraising effort.
Warm-up band "Caleb's Cadence" will take the stage at 6 p.m., with "Echoing Angels," starting at 7 p.m.
Bibles and bracelets will be given away, and food and drinks will be available. The bands will also sell merchandise, including recorded music.
Keith Campbell plays acoustic guitar and sings lead vocals for "Caleb's Cadence." Campbell described the nine-person band's music as "new contemporary church," with some classic rock type music.
The band will perform Christian music hits regularly heard on radio and one original song.
"Our goal is to lead worship and lead in a way that creates excitement," said Campbell.
"Caleb's Cadence" are members of the worship team at First Baptist Church of Lake Placid.
Campbell was excited that organizers have given him the chance to perform in front of what promises to be the biggest audience of his career.
"It"s awesome when you see a vision like that come together under God's hand and for people to pull together and supply those funds," said Campbell.
