BREAKING NEWS: Police Arrest Burglary Suspect

SEBRING - Over the past week and a half, the city of Sebring Police Department has investigated more than a dozen burglary and theft complaints.

On Tuesday police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Denise Avenue, when a woman called to report a stolen bicycle.

While en route, dispatch gave officer Bret Hinkle a description of a white male seen leaving the area with a bicycle. A woman working in the area reportedly saw the incident happen and called it in.

She told police the owner of the blue and silver mountain bicycle had just gone to look for the man.
Sebring Police Cpl. Vivianne Buck spotted a man on EO Douglas Avenue who matched the suspect's description. He was riding a bicycle that matched the description of the missing bike, so she stopped him.

The suspect did not want to speak to police and during a search a package of cigarettes was found in his pocket containing a few small pieces of suspect crack cocaine, the report stated. It tested positive for cocaine.

Two Motorola cell phones and a gold colored necklace were also recovered.

Joseph Vincent Trupiano, 41, of General Delivery, in Sebring, was stopped and charged with burglary of a dwelling, petty theft second offense, and possession of cocaine.

Trupiano really doesn't have an address and just stayed where he could, said Sebring Police Cmdr. Steve Carr on Wednesday.

Trupiano was considered a suspect in some other burglaries although he has not yet been charged, Carr said. The bicycle was valued at $80.
