LAKE WALES - Police detectives were investigating an armed robbery at a fast food restaurant that happened at about 11:40 p.m. Friday.
Two men entered the Subway restaurant located at 1382 State Road 60 E. and ordered the clerk to open the cash register.
When the clerk had difficulty opening the register, one of the suspects tried to spray her with mace, then pointed a handgun at her, police reported.
After she opened the register, the clerk was ordered into the freezer where she stayed until the pair left.
Both suspects wore masks. However, the following descriptions are available:
The first suspect was described as a black male about 6-feet 1-inch tall, weighing 165 pounds. This suspect had a dark complexion and wore blue jeans with a white tank top.
Suspect No. 2 was a black male about 5-feet 10-inches tall, weighing 150 pounds. Police say this suspect wore blue jean shorts with a white tank top.
He had dreadlocks or braided hair that reached to the middle of his back and also had a Zodiac symbol on his left forearm. The symbol was described as bull horns or possibly a Taurus.
The suspects drove off in a dark green Ford Explorer with tinted windows.
