Regarding Jon Bush's comments in a letter to the editor:
I don't usually write letters to the newspaper, however Jon Bush's comments about law enforcement professionalism prompts me to do so. I also read the article about Ronald Grimming and did not see anything that spoke strongly about him being a highly professional law enforcement person as it would relate to the Highlands Country Sheriff's Office.
The things mentioned about Mr. Grimming pale in comparison with the abilities, experience and training our existing sheriff, Susan Benton possesses. Ms. Benton has extensive training and experience, more on target of what is needed at HCSO than Mr. Grimming.
I am sure that Mr. Grimming is a fine gentleman, but I am not sure that his qualifications compare well with our existing sheriff. Our existing sheriff has been bringing the HCSO into the 21 century, where we were not before, under the previous sheriff, who is also a very fine gentleman. We don't need fine gentlemen running the HCSO, we need a qualified, experienced, well trained go-getter which is our existing Sheriff Susan Benton.
