Outstanding People

Last week at Sebring High School, my son was involved in a terrible situation. A theft took place and my son was set up by another student, who accused him of being involved. I am writing this letter to tell how wonderful the staff at Sebring High School is.

When I received the news about the situation I was furious. I started to call the high school to find out exactly what happened. It was after 3 p.m. and school was out. I spoke to several personnel on campus and left a couple of messages to contact me the next day. Well, I was totally shocked when this one gentleman called me at my home at 7:30 p.m. We spoke about the situation for approximately 30 minutes, at which time, he explained to me what had happened, and he knew that I was upset with the way it was handled.

I would like to explain that I am not a patient person. At this time, the gentleman told me what my son had to do to clear his name.

The next day the other gentleman called me back at my job. He also knew I was very disturbed by the way the situation was handled. He also gave me some very good information about proper procedure.

It is now Monday morning and my wife gets a phone call from the principal, and she tells her our son was innocent and was found to have no involvement in this theft.

I want to thank all of these employees at Sebring High School for the great job you do, day in and day out. Highlands County residents should be honored that we have such great people looking out for our children.

Teachers, counselors, police officers, principals of Sebring High School, you have a tough job and you certainly do not get paid enough for what you do. Again, thank you for caring about the children in our community.

Parents, the next time you see one of these outstanding educational employees, walk up to them and say thanks for caring.
