Mike, you have really hit a nail on its head with your letter. Little children are expected to shoulder the weight of the world anymore, and half the time to raise themselves. Whoever thought up that scheme of apologizing to the pumpkins' parents should be ashamed.
Little kids believe about anything they are told and it can affect their entire lives sometimes. This amounts to stealing yet another piece of their childhood, and is just plain ridiculous as well.
More even than "wake up" should be "for shame." Thank you for speaking out. And I like your personal choice of jack-o-lantern models.
