As I look at what Mother Nature is dishing out here lately, it makes me sad, yet it also has opened my eyes.

While the United States, thus far, has escaped any serious hurricanes this year, Mexico has been clobbered by a couple of nasty ones. Last week, Noel was moving towards the Bahamas, leaving destruction and death in it's wake.

I am reminded of the rare cyclone that hit the Middle East. I am also reminded of droughts, earthquakes, fires, etc.

I guess what prompted me to write this letter was the mayor of a small town in Tennessee who turns the water on to the town's population of 145 for three hours, saying that he "wasn't God " and couldn't "make it rain. As soon as I read those words, it hit me: 2 Chronicles 7:14.."If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." Of course, many would scoff at this, but I am reminded of the famines in the Bible, the droughts.

Call these events "Mother Nature gone wild," but I believe they are wake up calls.
