LAKE PLACID - When a Lake Placid man came home at 7:40 p.m. Friday, he found his roommates being held at gunpoint by three robbers, one with a pistol, the other with a sawed-off shotgun. A lookout was outside.

The man took off, said sheriff's Lt. Kenny Johnson, and so did the other occupants of No. 8 Parkdale Drive.

When they returned, they discovered the man's wallet was missing, along with cash and other items.

Now police are looking for two Hispanic males, ages 23 and 24, and two white females, ages 18 and 20.

They drove a black 4-door Mazda, which police found later behind Lupita's Grocery on Highlands Blvd. The car was not stolen, but it has been impounded, Johnson said.

"The owner can have it back if they want to come here and explain where it was at 7:40 p.m. Friday," Johnson said.

He asked anyone with information to contact Det. Chris Myers or Det. Pete Barone at 402-7250. Informants do not have to give their names.
