This is in reference to Mr. Gulledge's letter of Dec.12 about Halliburton setting the price of oil. Mr. Gulledge is absolutely correct. Halliburton has nothing to do about pricing oil; they only pump the oil. Mr. Streeter is dead wrong about Halliburton setting the price of oil. I'm positive the Arabs wouldn't have an American company tell them what they can charge for oil.
One of the causes of high oil prices is probably due to our own country. Our dollar is so devalued that the Arabs keep raising the price of their oil to us to maintain the return they were enjoying when our dollar was worth something.
This is the same reason the Canadians and Europeans are coming to this country to buy. For the first time in history, their money is worth more than ours. For Americans to travel in Europe now will cost a bundle.
