In response to Mr. Streeter's recent letter, I do not believe that Halliburton sets the price of oil. I believe the oil cartel does that.
The reason that Halliburton pumps the oil is that they are the most qualified company in the Mideast to do so.
If President Bush had not sent our troops to Iraq, Saddam would still be in power, raping and killing his own people, as he had done for many years. In addition, he would be ever more dangerous. I say "Good riddance!"
Since you and all the other "Bush-Haters" continue to ask, "Where are the weapons of mass destruction?" I suggest you read Georges Sada's book, "Saddam's Secrets." Mr. Sada was a confidant of Saddam and was in a position to know. According to Mr. Sada, those weapons, thousands of tons of them, were sent to Syria. Why that information has not been made aware to the American people, I have no idea. I am inclined to believe Mr. Sada's book.
Mr. Streeter, as you suggested, I do not believe Bush or Cheney are accepting "kickbacks," nor that the Earth is flat, and certainly not a "one-world government."
I do believe in our government, even with all its "warts." It is up to us Americans to improve our government. We do not do that by a constant stream of vitriol, but by the replacement of "career politicians." We have the power and we can wield it only at the ballot box.
