SEBRING - Heartland Workforce has implemented the Work Experience Program, a planned, structured learning opportunity that takes place in a workplace for a limited period of time. It is intended to provide a job-seeker with the training and skill development necessary for successful employment retention.Published: December 2, 2012
A Heartland Workforce business team member will work with an employer to review the qualifications and skills needed for an open position to determine if this program will meet the business' needs. If appropriate, a candidate is selected and a training plan is developed. Upon approval, the qualified work experience candidate may begin employment or training for a 12-week period.
Heartland Workforce provides the training funds through a third-party staffing agency that will administer payroll and benefits for the 12-week training period. Following training, the individual will become a full-time employee of the business where their training occurred.
Employers interested in more information about the program may contact a Heartland Workforce business representative in DeSoto County, Hardee County or Highlands County by going to www.hwib.org.
Heartland Workforce also encourages job-seekers to continue searching for a job during the holidays. They believe the holidays are not a time to take a break from job hunting.
