SEBRING - Most of a retaining wall that's been a source of controversy for more than two years will be torn down by Jan. 7, Sebring City Administrator Scott Noethlich said Wednesday.Published: December 27, 2012
Excavation Point Inc., the firm hired by the city to remove the wall, notified the city that it will mobilize for the job on Jan. 2 and have it completed within 5 days.
The Sebring City Council last week appropriated about $12,000 for the project.
City officials say the wall, on property owned by Gingerlee Mitchelllindo at 503 E. Center Ave., encroaches on city right-of-way. A court granted the city the right earlier this year to tear down the wall.
