Two suspects arrested in armed robbery at Pizza Hut

SEBRING - Two men have been arrested in connection with the Dec. 12 armed robbery of Pizza Hut during which two restaurant employees were forced into a cooler.

Arrested in connection with the robbery were Christopher Antonio Kenon Jr., 18, 732 Concert Drive, Lake Placid and Andre Lamont Wilson Jr., 20, of 311 S. Sun N Lakes Blvd., Lake Placid, according to the Highlands County Sheriff's Office.

Wilson was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, burglary with assault and battery and robbery. Kenon was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, burglary with assault or battery and armed robbery.

The robbery occurred at 2109 U.S. 27 South, Sebring.

An employee told authorities she was sitting outside when a man with a ski mask forced her to put in a code to open the door to the restaurant, the arrest affidavit said.

The manager of the restaurant told investigators two men, one wearing a ski mask and the other carrying a gun, ran toward him and demanded he open the safe, the affidavit said.

He also reported that one of the men struck him in the head with a gun handle. He told investigators that after he opened the safe, he was forced into the cooler, along with the other employee.
