Two rob Hammock Road Circle K

SEBRING The Circle K convenience store at the corner of Jacklin Avenue and Hammock Road in Sebring was robbed by two armed men after 11 p.m. on Tuesday.

Highlands County Sheriff's detectives were investigating the robbery.

It was reported that two men entered the store, one armed with a hand gun and the other with a machete, according to Sheriff's Spokeswoman Nell Hays.

"One suspect scaled the counter and approached the clerk, hit him with the hand gun and demanded he open the cash drawer," Hays reported in a news release. "The victim complied and the robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash."

The victim was treated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.


The suspects were described as Hispanic or black males, one approximately 5-feet 8-inches tall, medium build and was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect was described as tall with a thin build. Both had their faces covered and ran away after the robbery, Hays said.
