SEBRING A truck driver cited for drinking rear-ended a Lincoln Tuesday evening, seriously injuring the car driver.

Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Mark Marcus reported that Jeffrey Luther Danley, 52, of Sebring was northbound in a Freightliner at 5:43 p.m. on U.S. 27, south of New Life Way.

Danley "failed to pay attention to the traffic ahead," Marcus wrote.

A 2002 Lincoln LS driven by Charles Linsinbigler, 26, of Avon Park, had stopped or slowed on U.S. 27 because the traffic light had changed, the trooper wrote.

The truck collided with the car, which was pushed into the center lane.

Danley, who was not injured, was cited with DUI with personal injuries and careless driving.
