Thanksgiving services planned

The theme will be "One Nation under God," and will include several local musical groups: Highlands Community Chorus, Heartland Harmonizers, Wings of Faith Choir, vocalists George and Carol Kline and instrumentalists Frances Dixon Taylor and Carol Weise.

The meditation will be brought by host pastor, the Rev. David Smalley. Other participants will include the Rev. Cecil Hess of The Palms of Sebring and Church of Buttonwood Bay; Chaplain James Langham of Good Shepherd Hospice; the Rev. Andrew Katsanis of Grace Bible Church; Howard Salles of Temple Israel; the Rev. A.C. Bryant of First United Methodist Church; the Rev. Darrell Peer of First Presbyterian Church; Bishop Steve Austin of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints; Maj. Vicki Stefanik of Salvation Army; the Rev. Ronald DeGenaro Jr. of St. John United Methodist Church; Deacon James McGarry of St. Catherine Catholic Church; the Rev. George Miller of Emmanuel United Methodist Church; and the Rev. Tim Cain of St. John United Methodist Church.

A freewill offering will benefit the Sebring Ministerial Fund for the needy. Worshippers are encouraged to bring a nonperishable item for Heartland Food Bank.

There will be music under the direction of Joy Toll-Chandler and Joshua Klatt. Attendees are asked to bring nonperishable food for Manna Ministry. A love offering will be taken to benefit Samaritan's Touch Care Center of Lake Placid.
