SEBRING - The School Board of Highlands County recognized 44 middle and high school students Tuesday who earned perfect scores on the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test in the 2011-12 school year.

Most of the perfect scores were in reading or math.

One student, Sebring Middle's Morgan DeVane, earned a perfect score in science.

Four students received perfect scores in both reading and math last year. They were Avon Park Middle's Shawn Hazard and Hill-Gustat Middle's Siddarth Ananthan, Ritika Manik and Matthew Sutermeister.

Each student was congratulated by the school board members and received a medallion.
