SEBRING - Police were continuing Tuesday to investigate the attempted robbery of a store clerk Monday night, authorities said.

A clerk at Saunak's Corner, 306 N. Ridgewood Drive, reported that after he left the business about 9:35 p.m. and walked toward his car, a male came up behind him, punched him several times and then tried to kick him, a Sebring Police Department report said.

The male, who he had seen shortly before riding a bicycle, demanded money, but the clerk did not have any money, the clerk told police.

The suspect was described as a black male, 6 feet tall, weighing about 200 pounds, wearing black shorts, a black shirt and black shoes, the report said.

No arrests were made by press time, police said.
