Nine win big at Heartland Realtors Banquet

The party atmosphere at the Heartland Realtors Association Banquet on Friday evening resounded with laughter and clapping throughout the night.Published: February 3, 2013
With approximately 126 attendees, the camaraderie was contagious.
Recognition was given to all who sold more than $1 million worth of property this past year, then $2 million, $3 million, on up to more than $10 million. There has been a lot of farm and pasture property sold in Highlands County and surrounding areas in 2012.
The Rookie of the Year Award is given to a Realtor who has had his or her license for less than two years and best displays adherence to the Realtors Code of Ethics, growth and knowledge in the real estate business. The award was presented to Matt Christian by Matt Nelson.
The Realtor of the Year Award was presented to Helen Ferry. This award is given to honor a deserving Realtor whose efforts, time and talent are expended in the interests of fellow Realtors and members of the community.
The third award of the evening was for the Congeniality Award. There were two winners this year: Bethany Rojas and Brian Krpata.
The Association Achiever Award was presented to Kris Harrington. The recipient for this award is chosen for being the most dedicated, with the most time and effort on the local board.
Former President Debbie Williams presented Leslie Loughlin of C and C Title Services the award for Affiliate of the Year.
The President's Awards were given to two people: Jeff Ludwig and Jeanne Butler.
The Hall of Fame Award went to Kim Reed. The criteria for the award is to have been involved in the business for at least 10 years and be well liked and respected in the real estate community.
The new roster of officers and directors is as follows: President Ann Pollard, President-elect Jeanne Warner, Vice President Bob Hesselink, Secretary Gene Reese, Treasurer Kris Harrington and Directors Susan Compton, Donald Elliott, Grant Worden, Jeanne Butler, C.B. Brewer, Sue Clark, James Donohue, Carol Edwards, Pete McDevitt, Brian Krpata and Jim See.
