Highlands County government buildings will be closed New Year's Day.Published: December 28, 2012
City of Avon Park offices will be closed New Year's Day. There will be no change in garbage pickup.
City of Sebring offices will be closed New Year's Day and Tuesday's garbage collection will move to Wednesday.
The Town of Lake Placid offices will be closed New Year's Eve and New Years Day. Town of Lake Placid will move New Year's Day pickup to Wednesday.
Choice Environmental, which collects outside city and town limits, will move New Year's Day pickup to Wednesday.
