SEBRING - A Sebring man was airlifted to a Tampa hospital Friday night in serious condition after the motorcycle he was riding hit the back of a truck at U.S. 27 and U.S. 98.

Micael Winker, 49, was riding a motorcycle southbound on U.S. 27 on the inside lane, behind a truck driven by Ricky Borkowski, 28, of Okeechobee, according to a Florida Highway Patrol press release.

The release states that the motorcycle's front hit the back of Borkowski's truck, sending the 1983 Harley Davidson sliding on its side 200 feet before stopping. The 2008 Ford pickup's driver and a passenger were uninjured in the 9:45 p.m. accident. The truck sustained minor damage.

Winker was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital.
