SEBRING - A Lake Placid man told a Highlands County deputy he intended to sell beer and cigarettes, but that's not what they found in his possession, according to an arrest report.Published: February 15, 2013
Lorenzo N. Najar, 63, of 25 E. Washingtonia St., Lake Placid, was arrested Feb. 8 by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell or deliver, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest came after a deputy stopped Najar on a traffic violation and asked him what he was doing in Sun 'n Lakes, the report said.
Najar agreed to a search of his vehicle, and although he told the deputy he intended to sell beer and cigarettes, the deputy found cocaine that appeared to be packaged for street sales.
They also found money in his pocket in different denominations, consistent with what a drug dealer would derive from street sales.
He was released Feb. 10 on $2,500 bond.
