The driver of a Dodge Ram pickup, 71-year-old Douglas C. Creed of Clover S.C., was charged with turning in front of oncoming traffic in the Feb. 11 accident at the intersection of U.S. 27 and New Life Way, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report. The crash occurred at 6:48 p.m. when Creed, traveling northbound on U.S. 27 in the left turn lane turned in front of a southbound Lincoln MKS driven by 74-year-old Cesar A. Pinzon of Avon Park. Pinzon and Creed's passenger, Gail Creed, 69, received minor injuries and were transported to Florida Hospital Heartland, according to the FHP report. MARC VALERO/STAFF
