SEBRING Travis Makris, who was charged with being an accessory after the fact in the murder of Aaron Doty, was released on bond Nov. 20.Published: November 29, 2012
Makris was arrested July 11 and remained in Highlands County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
On Nov. 20, however, his bond was reduced to $20,000, which was posted by bail bondsman Rodney Elinor.
Judge Angela Cowden ordered that while out on bond, Makris is to have no contact with co-defendants Jonathan Rodriguez or Kenneth Felipe Jr., who are accused of beating Doty unconscious at a June 10 party.
Afterwards, Makris agreed to keep a bag of clothes and a pair of sneakers for one of the accused murderers.
Makris also isn't allowed to contact Adriana Rodriguez, Nicole Hebert, Giovanni Burgos, Trini Burgos, Cody Kennedy or Devin Elliott.
Adriana Rodriguez is accused of helping clean up the blood evidence at Jonathan Rodriguez and Felipe's apartment.
Hebert reportedly drove the suspects to Orlando, where they hid at Burgos's apartment.
Kennedy and Elliott are witnesses, but they have not been arrested, Asst. State Attorney Steve Houchin confirmed, nor do their names appear in the Highlands County Jail log.
