36-year-old charged with sexual assault of minor

SEBRING - A 36-year-old man remained in jail Tuesday on $40,000 bond after being charged with lewd and lascivious behavior and sexual assault of a minor by a custodian, according to a Highlands County Sheriff's Office report.Published: December 18, 2012
Scott Alexander Wilkie, 36, 1310 Kerry Drive, Sebring, was booked into Highlands County Jail Friday on accusations he sexually abused at his home a 13-year-old, who was 12 at that time, the report states.
The incidents allegedly happened between May and September of last year, the report states.
The victim was allegedly sleeping in Wilkie's bed when some of the alleged incidents took place, which included him inappropriately touching her, the report added.
Authorities received the complaint in October, the report states.
The charges were filed after a forensic interview of the victim, written statements and Wilkie's "self-incriminating statements," the report adds.
His arraignment is set for Jan. 28, according to a Highlands County Clerk of Courts official.
