Beloved plants stolenPublished: February 22, 2013
On the eve of Valentine's Day, someone came into my neighbor's yard behind Circle K off Hammock Road and took two stronghorns.
These stronghorns had been passed down from her grandmother to her mother to her after her mother passed away a few months ago.
It broke her heart to have a part of her life taken away again. If you could find it in your heart to return them, it would be greatly appreciated.

Pardons deserve outrage
California Gov. Jerry Brown just pardoned 377 killers, and this was not the first time. Liberals are outraged about the lack of gun control regulations on the law abiding citizens, but I hear no outrage concerning the release of this extraordinary number of killers back into society.

Tax refunds aren't a giveaway
I get the impression that many people think their tax refunds are some sort of "free money." All a tax return is is money that was taken from your paycheck by the government and held hostage until you did your taxes.
The government uses this money for God-knows-what and then ands it back to you with no interest accumulated whatsoever. The fact is you overpaid taxes in the first place! However, if you owe the IRS money, watch out for the added interest and penalties.
The current tax system is an inefficient bureaucratic nightmare that's costing us taxpayers billions of dollars a year through criminal fraud along with misuse of tax funds in the bureaucracy itself.
As I've written before, I usually never get a refund. I have to pay in extra money on top of what's already taken out of my paycheck. And again, I believe we need a flat tax system so everybody pays their fair share; this would include politicians. And guess what? You would get to keep more of your paycheck than the way it is now. Read on to see how Obamacare and taxes might affect you next year.
Even the advocates of Obamacare have now taken off their rose-colored glasses and finally realized that health care insurance premiums and deductibles are going to skyrocket out of affordability for the average working taxpayer. I don't know why they didn't see that before now.
The really scary part of this is if you don't have insurance, then the IRS steps in with tax penalties, which gives them even more power over us in this land of the free and home of the brave.
When Obamacare takes effect next year, I think 2014 will be known as the year of being caught between a rock and a hard place. This is strictly my own opinion, but I believe you will see job losses because of Obamacare.

Canadian drivers
In regards to the letter written referring to Canadian drivers, we love our Canadian friends. It's people like you that we don't like. Too bad they hadn't stuffed you in a locker and left you there!
