Gun rightsPublished: February 1, 2013
In response to a letter from a retired government teacher: I am a proud member of the NRA. I am not ashamed of myself for supporting the Second Amendment. Most citizens believe if it were not for the NRA, America would look like some of the foreign countries, throwing rocks at a government with guns.
He stated that guns should be like they were when the Constitution was written: one-shot. If that were the case we need our Einsteins in the District of Corruption to pass some more laws along with the one-shot.
A few of these could be the following: Crooks should turn in all of their multi-shot weapons and only use a single shot; no more than one crook shall break into your home at a time; if a homeowner misses because he is excited, the crook must stand still till the homeowner reloads and shoots again; and while being hunted, all game animals shall stay still till the hunter makes a direct hit to the head or heart.
He also states that removing guns from homes would save lives. Where did he get this statistic?
The sign on my door, "NO TRESPASSING," is to protect you.

Gun control
A few comments to Dick Sherman's letter on Jan. 27.
He states NRA people should be ashamed. The government is not trying to take guns from us. We had gun control during Clinton's administration and Columbine and a few other mass shootings took place. When that gun ban expired, mass shootings didn't increase.
As states allowed right to carry permits, crime and shootings decreased. The anti-gun agenda keep saying they won't take our guns, but their plan is to appease us and then one step at a time, they plan on total confiscation. This is the first step in that direction.
If all the bans Obama wants become law and don't stop mass shootings, he will go for gun registration. Then all guns will get registered except the criminals. They don't obey the law.
When shootings continue, Obama will order all registered guns confiscated. Then no one will have guns but the criminals and crime will go rampant just like Chicago with their strict gun and ammo laws.
How is the government planning on controlling the sale of guns from one individual to another? The bureau of alcohol, tobacco and firearms couldn't track and trace their own guns in Fast and Furious, but Holder and Obama sure covered that up.
Thank God for the NRA and their fight for the Second Amendment. I'm a proud member and not one bit ashamed.

Swamp Hammock
In protest of Swamp Hammock, imagine 46 outdoor activities on 1,134 acres in the heart of ranches, native wildlife, hammocks and wetlands. Imagine fireworks, mud bogging, food vendors, a drive-in movie theater, concert stage to seat 1,006, rifle range and helicopter pad. Wow!
How will the country roads endure this amount of traffic? The roads barely handle sod trucks. What will happen to our peaceful and noise-free life? Lord help the native wildlife and ranchers.
The promoters, Gabe White, a native, and Kennedy have no conscience or integrity. Are the planning and zoning commissions stupid or ignorant? Why would they recommend this horrible outdoor project to the County Commission for approval?
Folks, you better mark your calendars for the Feb. 26 meeting. This would become a reality. Please protest against the project. Show up and voice your opinion to the commissioners.
