Fighting Alzheimer'sPublished: September 11, 2012
In 1992, a caregiver's conference was held in Sebring for the victims and loved ones of families. Today we find that Florida has more diagnosed patients of this dreaded disease than any other state.
With World Alzheimer's Day approaching on the 21st of this month, it is vital to again emphasize the need for attention to this mind-robbing, soul-stealing malady.
Today, there are medications available that can extend the quality of life for individuals and their families. Many are unable to wait for the cure. Help is available.
We are fortunate to now have the Byrd Alzheimer's Center and Research Institute on the Tampa USF campus facility that offers early detection through screening as well as leading edge trials with the most advanced medications available to victims.
The associates of Elder Care Advocacy of Florida urge concerned individuals to avail themselves of these dedicated professionals who have the expertise to offer relief.
We must continue to fight for the care as well as the cure.
