I read with interest the latest joke being perpetrated on the folks of Massachusetts by the Democrats. They changed the law in 2004, so that their then Republican governor, Mitt Romney, would be blocked in naming a successor to Sen. John Kerry, if Kerry won the presidential election.
Now, in 2009, they've changed the law again, so that their Democratic governor can now name the successor to the late Ted Kennedy. How unseemly, unfair, and disenfranchising to the folks of Massachusetts who don't happen to be Democrats.
These shenanigans remind me of the spoiled, entitled, nasty brat who brings his ball to the neighborhood baseball game. When things don't go his way, he stamps off in a fit of pique, taking the ball with him. End of story, end of game.
Now I know how the Democrats got the reputation for being sore losers and whiners when things don't turn out the way they expect. Bullies get their way because they can, even if it means changing the law like my husband used to change his shirt!
