SEBRING - Looking for a place to hike, away from the madding crowd?
Try Jack Creek. It's in Southwest Florida Water Management District's new recreation guide, "Get Outside."
The 1,286-acre property between Sebring and Lake Placid has seven miles of unmarked interior roads for hiking. The habitat includes bay swamp, cutthroat grass seeps, sand pine scrub, hardwood hammock and pine flatwoods.
Josephine and Jack creeks run through the properties. Their water eventually goes downstream to Lake Istokpoga.
