I was peacefully driving home on U.S. 27 S., on Friday, Aug. 28 at about 4 p.m., when suddenly a car tire came barreling towards my car. I slowed down a little but traffic was heavy; the tire came straight at me and smacked the front of my auto.
My first reaction was to get to a phone and call the police. As I was getting out of my car a nice young man approached me with the runaway tire in his hands. He offered me help, saying "Don't worry ma'am I saw the accident, follow me back to the car that the wheel dislodged from." The owner of the tire was a very nice young lady; she apologized and called the police; she offered me compassion.
It was not her fault; unfortunately she was experiencing trouble with the left front tire and had just come from the garage where the mechanic had just put air in the tire. He took it off to check it and then put it back on her car.
My Good Samaritan stood by me the whole time; thank God no one was injured. The cops came right away, wrote a report, exchanged necessary information and mentioned that the mechanic was at fault. The man that helped me was one of the kindest gentlemen I've yet to meet.
