There have been many questions and environmental concerns regarding the proposed Eagle Training Center in Venus. The area known as Venus is a major wetland and probably more so than other places in Highlands County or even the state. It is mostly a community in harmony that could be destroyed.
Fisheating Creek and that aquifer eventually co-exist with the Everglades and the wildlife it supports is of extreme importance to Florida. Sebring Airport has complaints about deer and swine on the runways and the ecological system in Venus is vastly superior.
How can the Department of Environmental Protection and the county commissioners even consider this project. How could it benefit Highlands County?
One does not donate three quarters of a million dollars to a governor's campaign out of sincerity! In the above there are too many anomalies.
