Thank you for your guest column published in the Aug. 30 Highlands Today.

Your written words were inciteful, clearly expressed, direct and to the point. Since Rep. Rooney had already made up his mind to vote against the health care reform bill, no matter the content, I wondered why he would even conduct a sham town hall meeting. Ah, the world of Republican politics.

I am very happy to see that there is at least one other person in Highlands County who shares my wife's and my views.

Again, thank you for taking the time to write your guest column and I hope you will do so again in the near future.
