Close to the most valuable asset in a Democratic republic is the sanctity of one vote per qualified voter. Shortly after the November, 2008 elections there were those who boasted about the number of times they had voted. Acorn paid people to register voters.
It appears that there was no effort to determine how many times the same person registered under different names. We desperately need severe fines, prison terms and forfeiture of future voter rights for voter fraud and aiding and abetting voter fraud.
Not only must picture identification be required but all voters should be finger printed when they vote. A person who has nothing to hide does not object to being checked. A voter who has something to hide, should be checked.
