Mr. Pereia is "right on" about how Hitler stifled and took control of the press in his rise to power.

We are seeing this today in Venezuela, where dictator Hugo Chavez has shut down all the TV companies who opposed or questioned his policies. We also see the president of Iran, another dictator, beating and imprisoning those of his citizens that oppose his policies.

We are experiencing a similar situation in our own country today, with President Obama's reaction to Fox News. This is the first step every dictator takes, control the news media. Unfortunately, in this country, the TV news media are all agog over Obama. Fox News is the only channel that points out Obama's contradictions.

In contrast, when the TV news people were questioning former President Bush's mental prowess, Bush didn't complain or whine publicly about them nor mention anything about curtailing them. He kept his mouth shut, he was no dictator, he was not afraid of public opinion.

The citizens of this country had better wake up soon or the only voice they will have in their government will be the privilege of paying taxes.
