LAKE PLACID - The state fire marshal's office is continuing to investigate a Friday night fire in the Leisure Lakes community.
Lake Placid Fire Chief Adam Hess said the blaze started around 11 p.m. at 3101 Lake June Boulevard. His agency was the second one to respond to the house fire.
"It was fully involved by the time fire crews arrived," Hess said.
The chief added that the homeowner was gone and the house was closed up.
Sam Venzeio, with the fire marshal's office, said the fire caused $16,000 worth of damage. Investigators are still trying to determine whether it was set on purpose.
