AVON PARK - A benefit dinner will still go on for a local mother who died Friday in an Orlando hospital

On Sept. 9, Nichole Sevigny had her third son, Caden. Four days later she was taken to the hospital for an unknown condition.

Until Friday, she had been battling severe pneumonia and remained hospitalized at Orlando Regional Hospital.

Today there will be a barbecue chicken dinner at the Charles R. Head Baseball Field in Avon Park starting at 4 p.m. It costs $10 per plate and all proceeds will go to help the family defray medical expenses.

Christian music band Remnant will be playing, as well.

Tickets can be purchased at Highlands Independent Bank in Avon Park, Bill Jarrett Ford, Sevigny&Johnson Eye Care, Florida Hospital Heartland, Kenilworth Care and Rehabilitation, Sevigny&Timmerman Eye Care and Glades Electric.

Donations can also be made to the Nichole Sevigny Trust Fund at Highlands Independent Bank's Avon Park branch.
