Man accused of sexually assaulting boy, 7

AVON PARK - A Yulee man remained in the Highlands County Jail Wednesday under no bond after being served a warrant accusing him of sexually assaulting a then 7-year-old boy in 2004.
Daniel Dwayne Aldredge, 20, is charged with sexual assault by a person under 18 years of age on a victim under 12 years of age, a life felony.
The alleged assault happened between Aug. 1 and Aug. 31, 2004. At the time, Aldredge was 14 years old, according to the arrest report.
If convicted, Aldredge could be punished by a term of life imprisonment or by a prison term not exceeding 40 years, according to state statutes.
