A writer wrote that he only listened to Fox news "because they told him what he wanted to hear." A recent letter praises Fox and stated that Fox's Hannity, Rush, and Beck are scandal free. Apparently they missed Rush being caught doctor shopping to support his drug habit or Fox losing dozens of advertisers after Beck called President Obama a racist.
Bill O'Riley, not long ago, settled out of court on a sexual harassment case. The writer proclaimed Fox was "news we can trust"? Not according to England who made Fox change it's name from Fox News to Fox Entertainment because they said Fox's reporting was too distorted. At 8 p.m., just tune in the almost nightly segment on MSNBC showing the actual live quotes of people and then the quite different or out of context "misquotes" from Fox. I'm a news junkie. I don't have music on my radios or a CD in the player. I listen to talk radio and TV.
I read two news papers and utilize the internet. As a news source, I find Fox is simply not trustworthy. On several occasional I witnessed the live statement and then later heard Fox's altered reporting of the same statement. I soon realized that this "mistake" was by design. How can one be sure Fox or Rush is truthful if you only listen to Fox or Rush? I listen to all news outlets. I may not like what they say sometimes but I'm informed. Remember, "An open mind is like an open window in a room. It keeps the contents from becoming stuffy".
For a middle of the road look at Washington try visiting www.citizensforethics.org. They don't care what political stripe you are. They currently have eight Dem's and seven GOP in their cross hairs! This is the kind of news reporting the country needs to hear, not politically spun noise.
And to the second writer who wants the U.S. to be more like North Korea and Iran and arrest anyone no matter what their reason for coming to this county: At the bottom of the Statue of Liberty it reads in part: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free."
