Woman charged with hitting man with a shovel
AVON PARK - Tammy Taylor, 43, of Avon Park, was arrested Monday on a warrant charging her with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
On July 30, Taylor reportedly hit her boyfriend three times with a shovel following an argument about her spending all his money, according to the arrest report. The man suffered cuts on his left bicep, right forearm and head.
Highlands County Sheriff's Deputy Adrian Gamez made the arrest.
Woman accused of threatening 12-year-old with knife
SEBRING - Brenda Denise Lott, 50, of Sebring, was arrested Monday and charged with cruelty toward a child without great harm.
Early Saturday morning, around 2:30, Lott started yelling at the 12-year-old girl after a night of drinking at a bar, according to the arrest report. She then reportedly started stabbing the walls with a knife before yelling at her while the weapon was still in her hand.
"The victim stated she was in fear for her safety," the report stated.
Highlands County Sheriff's Deputy Barbara Hair made the arrest.
