AVON PARK - A man was arrested Tuesday night after police say he stabbed another person in the leg following an argument at an Avon Park bar.
Terrell Lamar Jackson, 36, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to Avon Park Police Cmdr. Mike Rowan.
He was booked into the Highlands County Jail after 2 a.m. Wednesday and was released after 1 p.m. on a $150,000 bond, according to information from the Highlands County Sheriff's Office.
Rowan said Jackson and the victim started arguing while at a small bar located at 939 South Delaney Ave. in Avon Park. The suspect then allegedly stabbed the man in the leg while still inside the establishment.
"We got the call, I believe it was from the victim, who was already down at the hospital," Rowan said.
The victim was initially sent to Florida Hospital Heartland Division for treatment before being transferred to a Lakeland hospital, according to Rowan, because of fears his femoral artery had been cut.
"From what I understand, he had been treated up in Lakeland and was going to be released this morning (Wednesday)," Rowan said.
On Wednesday afternoon, there was no indication as to what the argument was about, according to Rowan.
"They have known each other for years," he said.
