Volunteers carved 80 turkeys, peeled 400 pounds of potatoes and cut 150 pies among preparing many other traditional Thanksgiving specialties to serve about a thousand people for "Thanksgiving Feed" sponsored by Union Congregational Church.

Faith Lutheran Church
SEBRING - Sebring's Faith Lutheran Church, located at 2740 Lakeview Drive, will host its first community Thanksgiving dinner today.
Those interested in dining were expected to sign up for the three spots: 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

SEBRING - For its fourth annual Thanksgiving community dinner, the Atonement Lutheran Church hopes to feed more than 600.
The church is located at 1178 Lakeview Drive, in Sebring, across from the Sherwin-Williams Co. paint store.
The dinner will be held from noon to 3 p.m. today and is free to anyone who wishes to attend.
There will also be drop-off points set up at Lemon Street and at the coin laundry next to the Blue Crab restaurant on North Ridgewood Drive starting at 1 p.m.
Church to present Thanksgiving service
SEBRING - For more than 100 years, there has been a Christian Science Thanksgiving Bible Lesson.
The community is invited to join the congregation for this special service, with an opportunity to express individual gratitude, to be held today at 10:30 a.m., 146 N. Franklin St., Sebring.
At this service, participants will be hearing from President Obama through the reading of his Thanksgiving Proclamation.
They will also hear the 2009 edition of the Thanksgiving Lesson, which is read at all Christian Science Churches around the world.
No collection will be taken.
