AVON PARK - There is a boil water notice for the following affected Avon Park residents due to an 8-inch water main break.
S. Marshall Ave., 600 to 700 block,: Boardman St, 800 block; S. Wells St., 200 block; Armiste St, 800 block; E. Canfield St., 800 block; Pate St., 800 block, Bridgewater St., 800 block; Reddick St., 800 block; S.R. 17A, 200 to 1200 block; Palmer Ave., 800 to 900 block; E. Green St., 400 to 500 block; Cherokee Ave., 800 block; Seminole Ave., 800 to 900 block; S. Lotela Ave.,500 to 900 block; S. Willow Ave., 600 block; Duncris Drive, 700 block, Barlow Ave., 900 block; Todd Ave., 1000 block, Hibiscus Ave., 800 block; Terry Drive, 1000 block; Palmdale Ave., 600 block; Oakdale Ave., 600 block, Lake Lotela Drive, 1800 to 2100 block, McGreath Lane, 900 block; S. Hickory Trail, 1100 to 1900 block; E. Oakrun, 1300 block; Lake Angelo Drive, 800 to 900 block; E. Sears Road. 1600 to 1700 block; S. Angelo Lake Road, 400 to 600 block; and S. Christy Jo Drive, 400 to 600 block.
Therefore, as a precaution, the city advises that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled. You should disinfect your water as follows:
A rolling boil for one minute is sufficient. As an alternative bottled water may be used.
The boil water notice will remain in effect until the problem has been corrected and bacteriological survey shows that water is safe to drink.
