AVON PARK - An Avon Park man remained in the Highlands County Jail Thursday under an $180,000 bond after being arrested on a warrant accusing him of exchanging sexual explicit correspondences and adult pornography with a 16-year-old girl.
Jimmy Dale Antley, 38, of Avon Park, was charged with 18 counts of distributing obscene material to a minor. On March 30, he was arrested on a charge of lewd or lascivious behavior by a person 18 years of age or older.
On April 2, both computers were seized and sent to the Polk County Sheriff's Office's Bureau of Special Investigations for examination, according to the arrest report. That exam was done between Aug. 3 and Aug. 24.
The exam showed Antley and the girl had been chatting online through instant messenger. The computers also contained the pornography files, but no evidence of child pornography was found, the report stated.
Avon Park Police Det. Christy Harbaugh talked with the girl on Oct. 23 and she admitted to chatting with Antley from her home computer in Avon Park and sending the pornographic images, according to the report.
