SEBRING - Electrical issues appear to be the cause of a small fire that damaged a mobile home Tuesday afternoon at the Lake Josephine RV park.
Firefighters with DeSoto City and Leisure Lakes volunteer departments responded to the call shortly after 4:30 p.m. Several neighbors were out walking toward the activity as emergency crews made their way into the park.
The fire was contained to the outer back side of the mobile home, according to information from the DeSoto City Fire Department. The fire did not spread inside, but the interior did receive smoke damage.
Two people were inside the mobile home at the time of the fire, but got out safely, the DCFD said. The homeowner did suffer a small scrape on his hand.
Damage to the mobile home was estimated at $5,000. Once the air conditioning unit is replaced and the inside cleaned out, it will be livable again, according to the DCFD.
