LAKE PLACID - Golden Corral will thank active-duty and retired military men and women with a free buffet dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
Also on Disabled American Veterans Day, the restaurant will take donations. In the past nine years, the Raleigh, N.C. restaurant corp. has served more than nine million free meals and raised $4 million last year for DAV programs.
The Lake Placid location has served 4,500 free meals and generated $5,000 in contributions.
"We look forward every year to giving back to those who have given their services," said Golden Corral owner Mark Tharp.
The offer is open to any current or former U.S. soldier or sailor, National Guard or reservist. ID is not required.
