Sirianno's to reopen on Circle
SEBRING - Sirianno's Soup and Sandwich Shop will reopen in downtown Sebring on Monday, Nov. 16.
Located at 308 Circle Park Drive, the eatery will be open from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday when special events are held.
AP Chamber slates membership luncheon
AVON PARK - The Avon Park Chamber of Commerce will hold its membership luncheon at noon Tuesday, Nov. 17 at the Hotel Jacaranda.
The cost for the luncheon, which will be sponsored by The Oaks of Avon, is $10.

LP Chamber of Commerce to hold annual gift drive
LAKE PLACID - The Greater Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce will be collecting new unwrapped gifts for children up to the age of 16.
Items may be dropped off at the chamber office, which is located on 18 N. Oak Ave., Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
The last day to donate is Dec. 11.

EDC board agrees to support FHREDI
SEBRING - The Highlands County Industrial Development Authority/Economic Development Commission has committed to contribute $9,000 to Florida's Heartland Rural Economic Development Initiative during 2009-10.
It is understood that this amount includes a $5,000 FHREDI commitment to support the Small Business Development Center at South Florida Community College during the same time period.
The EDC is following the lead of the Highlands County Board of County Commission, which voted to suspend contributions to the organization until bookkeeping issues have been resolved. Once the suspension has been lifted, the EDC said in a letter to FHREDI "we look forward to supporting a program of work that is vitally important."
Lynn Topel, the executive director of FHREDI, attended the EDC meeting earlier this month. Topel discussed her budget and told the EDC board that an audit will take place in December.
Bealls has new manager
SEBRING - David Clubb is the new Bealls manager in Sebring.
Clubb took over the store at Lakeshore Mall in early October. He previously worked for Bealls in Lehigh Acres near Fort Myers.
Clubb has been in retail for 25 years. In addition to working for Bealls, he worked in management at Toys R Us and was a district manager for Baker Shoes and was responsible for 20 stores from Buffalo, N.Y., to Annapolis, Md.
He also sold real estate for five years.
A native of Pontiac, Mich., Clubb graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in business and psychology.
Garcia-Company joins Century 21 Compton Realty
LAKE PLACID - Marta Garcia-Company has joined Century 21 Compton Realty in Lake Placid.
Garcia-Company, who has been in sales for 20 years, moved to Highlands County two years ago.

Treasure Hunters show postponed in Sebring
SEBRING - The Treasure Hunters Roadshow, which was scheduled last week for the Quality Inn Conference Center in Sebring, was postponed. No reason was given to hotel officials for the postponement.
It will be held some time in January.
