When FDR became president we were facing an economical condition much as we are today. He instituted a program that put millions of people back to work and helped us get out of the Great Depression. It was a work program that was aimed at building municipal buildings, fixing roads and building bridges. It worked then and could do the same today.
The government has said that funding for these projects has already been allocated, so why hasn't it been done? So many people are out of work and so many are losing their homes. A great percentage of these people would gladly take this work to put food on their table and a roof over their heads.
I think the biggest negative to this idea is the Republican Party, the party of "No!" Whatever the president suggests they say no. Maybe when the Republican Party starts to pull together with our president good things might start happening and we could get people working again.
