LAKE PLACID - Theosophist Judith Snow will present a program at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 on near death experience (NDE) at the Lake Placid Memorial Library, 205 W. Interlake Blvd.

This will be the beginning of a series of programs that Snow will bring to the library this year.
Theosophy is traced back to ancient Greece but the modern aspect is usually considered as having been brought to the west by Helena Petrovna Blavtsky and Henry Steel Olcott, who founded The Theosophical Society in New York City in 1875.

Blavtsky and Olcott professed a belief in the formation of a nucleus of the Universal Brotherhood of Humanity, the study of comparative religion, philosophy and science, and the investigation of the unexplained laws of nature and the powers unused in man. Theosophy was its strongest in the United States during the 1920s. There is still a following in the United States and Florida.

Those who are interested in attending the lecture should call the library at 699-3705 and reserve a seat.
